Flatmoen Farm was founded and first cultivated at the end of the 18th century along the banks of the Alta River. Back then, Alta was just a tiny village and the farm lay at the edge of the raw wilderness in three of the four compass directions. Today, even though Alta Municipality has grown a lot, the farm is still a quiet place to be. Though Alta city center may be just 15 minutes away, you’d never know that standing out in a nearby field with beautiful nature in all directions. And the wilderness… it’s still right next door!
